Prior to the
Board of Directors Meeting, in recognition
and appreciation for the work they have done as a
NASMA Director, each Zone Board of Director was
surprised and presented with a Montana
Silversmith Buckle provided by private donations
and the proceeds from the Silent Auction items other
than the proceeds from the Jack Breeding which went
to the Youth. This was a Thank You
well deserved and so seldom afforded volunteers for
their commitment to their constituents and the
Association. |

On behalf of Doug Waugh, he'd wants to thank the
person/persons responsible for his Zone 6 director
belt buckle. I informed him it was through personal
donations that the directors received buckles.
In addition to Doug having a genuine interest in the
administrative success of NASMA, he has supported
shows through sponsorships, and the NASMA brochure
and the NASMA VTP brochure through advertising for
Locust Creek. Voting is not all that a director
does.
On a personal level, I remember years ago seeing Lloyd
Hawley's NASMA president's buckle. It was a great
form of advertising for NASMA. Even though that's
been about 10 years ago, I still remember it. With
the director's wearing the buckles to the many
mule functions across the country, it will generate
discussion and give them the opportunity to tell
people what a great organization NASMA is. If you
look at the names of the directors, some of them do
not show or show on a limited basis, and therefore
do not have the opportunity to win a buckle. NASMA
is not solely about showing mules, it's about the
promotion of the saddle mule. The directors are the
ones that has made NASMA the organization that it is
today. They helped pull NASMA out of a hole to build
an organization that is better than ever. The
buckles are a valuable form of appreciation for the
volunteer directors and an indirect source of
brilliant advertising. I hope you continue to
provide buckles for the directors.
Doug is proud to receive and to wear his NASMA director
buckle. Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Julie Waugh |

Dear Sue,
Skip and I want to thank you
and those who generously donated the funds for all
the director buckles. It was such a pleasant
surprise to receive recognition for serving as a
director for NASMA. By wearing our buckles perhaps
others will be inclined to want to serve also.
Please give our thanks to those responsible for our
great buckles.
Sincerely,
Cheryl & Skip Metheny

To: NASMA Subject: Great Big Thanks!
I have been a member of NASMA for a long time and have
supported the organization in several different
capacities. I've served on the BOD twice. This is the first time I have been
thoughtfully thanked for my efforts. I am proud to
wear this buckle to show my affiliation with this
organization. Many thanks to all those who were
involved with these surprise commemorative gifts.

Sue,
Oh my gosh, I rec'd such a wonderful
surprise today! Thank you to ALL responsible for the
beautiful Zone Director buckle! I will
wear this with pride!
I have found that a beautiful buckle,
such as this one, gets attention where
ever I go. I frequently get asked about
the buckles I wear. I will be proud to
share this with all who inquire, and
believe it reflects positively on the
mule industry as a whole!
Please know that I am working diligently
to promote the saddle mule in Zone 3,
especially to the kids, who I believe
are the true future of the organization!
 Thanks for the recognition,

I am touched by this
gesture and want to thank the donors for this
kindness. I feel humbled by this considering the
little I do to help NASMA. I feel that NASMA will
keep on and the efforts of all of us will be
critical machine to keep it going. If I only had
more time and resources I could do more but there is
lots to pull each of us in many directions. I think
the NASMA Board is filled with lots of unselfish,
caring people. I think this energy will carry us to
the future. I want to take this opportunity to thank
not only the energy and commitment behind this great
gesture toward the Board, BUT to also thank all the
Directors m yself for your work. THANKS for the
buckle and THANKS to my fellow board
members!
