June 2, 2006.  My long awaited Percheron mule foal was born Friday and was about as far as expected as you can get. He is a 38 ½” sorrel john with a small star. He came up following the maiden black Percheron mare Friday evening at 341 days, but she has no bag at all and we really didn’t expect him yet …… or think he was hers …. we have a sorrel mare due as well ……………. More than that she HATED him and would have nothing to do with him. Kicked him across the lot ……. Would still kick at him with a full load of ace and a twitch. Sheila went back to work and got some colostrum mares milk and we got it down him along with some vitamins and that “colostrum boost” supplement we got earlier, and then “Roan”, my bay cutting mare and mother of 3 month old “Wrangler” said “Heck, come on over and I’ll take care of you” ….. so she is. She has a 3 month old and a 3 day old on her and is carrying another one. We separated them from the herd and are pouring the feed to her …….. them. He was running and playing this morning and all looks hopeful.

Horse Fair.  March 2006

Dear Tim,

Just wanted to let you know that I got the NASMA Banner back in the mail to you today, sorry for the delay. If you go to our web page at www.lostvalleyfarm.com and under Photo Album you can see pictures of the University of Arkansas event we went to. We had a blast and talked non-stop to people all day about mules and donkeys, so hopefully we enlightened and educated a few!!

Thanks for you help and support.
