The Rules Committee Report |
December 2007 |
|
|
The Rules Committee is now until March 15 reviewing submitted rule
changes and commenting on the Discussion Forum. Debbie Brewer has
provided an on line submission form for suggested rule changes at
http://www.nasma.us/Forms/RuleChange.asp. When these are submitted on
line, I copy them to the Forum and then to the web site at
http://www.nasma.us/DotNet/submitted_rule_book_changes_for.htm
so members can review them and provide input to their Directors or to
the Committee Members. When rule changes are submitted on line, they
cannot be changed, even by the chair. If changes are suggested by the
Committee, the submitter must give permission for the change and
resubmit it. This maintains the integrity of the submitter and the
Committee.
Submission guidelines are the Rules Chair will post all rule changes
received verbatim. The submitter's name will be withheld.
Consequently, the merit of the rule change will be determined on the
justification alone.
There are a number of rules changes submitted and we have a good
interest in the process and thoughtful submits. Because of this, I'll
be recommending the rule book be published every year instead of every
two years. The Rules Committee will meet at Shelbyville to decide as a
group which rules will make it out of Committee for the BOD to vote on.
I would like to express my appreciation to those submitting changes
and to the Committee for their hard work
