First
I would like to thank the Board of Directors for their trust and
confidence by allowing me, and the other officers, the opportunity to
serve in leadership positions. I will do my best to exceed their, and
your, expectations and any mistakes made will hopefully be of
commission not omission .
I would also like to thank Tom and Deby Cochran and the Celebration
staff for the near flawless production of our first National
Championship show. It was a real pleasure attending and participating
in this event. I would also like to thank all the participants
especially those from the western states who drove a thousand and more
miles to compete, it was truly a national event.
A huge thanks also go to our volunteers, those who chair and
participate in our various committees and hold positions of trust
within the organization. Most of these dedicated souls hold down
regular jobs, putting in forty or more hours a week earning a living,
in addition to the many hours they freely give of their personal time
in the running of the organization.
It’s my intention to report to you, the members, on a monthly basis my
perspective on what’s happening within our organization. I will also
ask for your inputs either directly or through your zone directors on
what you would like to see from your association.
Currently we are working on providing some new content on the web
site. Educational material on care and training for your mules and
donkeys. Dr. Tex Taylor is helping us to provide a considerable amount
of specific Veterinary material of interest to you and your Vet. for
both mules and donkeys. We will have training articles from successful
trainers of mules and donkeys to help with the basics and beyond.
In closing, I would like to appeal to our members to become active in
the running of our organization. Volunteer to be a member of one (or
more) of the committees of interest to you. If you would be interested
in holding office make it known to the nominating committee. We always
need volunteers. Your help is needed, wanted and will certainly be
appreciated.
Thank you,
Karl Schneider
