Dear Fellow NASMA Members,
2006 has been a great year for NASMA. Our organization is
moving in a positive direction, our membership has increased and the
World Show was a huge success. In October, Carthage, MO played a
gracious host as many World Champions were crowed. The NASMA
World Show Committee, headed by Chairman Karl Schneider of Bell, FL is
to be commended for a job well done. When you see Karl and his
committee members, be sure to let them know your thoughts on the World
Show; they have a thankless job. NASMA's Executive Secretary, Sue
King of Boyd, TX, also deserves your thanks. She has logged
thousands of hours getting NASMA back on track and worked around the
clock making sure the World Show ran smooth. As NASMA members, I
encourage you to share your appreciation with your board of directors
for a great 2006. In other news, the Versatility Trail Program has
an excellent committee and committee chairperson and is stronger than
ever. This committee is for all members who trail ride with
their mules and donkeys. I would recommend all members join the
VTP and earn awards for all the fun things they do with mules and
donkeys. The board of directors voted to hold its fall board
meeting in conjunction with a VTP ride. Check the web site for
the location and date. Our website, maintained by Debra Brewer of
Harrisonville, MO, is world class. If you have not been to the
official NASMA website, www.nasma.net,
you are missing out. This website offers membership renewals,
show results, on-line rule book which can be printed, as well as many
other user-friendly functions. On-line registrations and a NASMA
store are coming soon. We all owe Debra a huge thank you for all
her hard work. Finally, we are all aware of the turmoil NASMA
experienced this past year. Many friends and members of NASMA
donated a lot of their own time and money to ensure the organization
got back on track. Because of their gracious efforts NASMA is
bigger and better than ever. If you have any questions or concerns
please feel free to give me a call or send an email. Remember,
this is your association...all suggestions or comments are welcome.
I hope everyone has a great Holiday Season and a Happy New Year. |
