Animal has to be Registered AND the OWNER and EXHIBITOR need to be current members. 
To enter a NASMA Sanctioned Amateur, Novice Amateur and Silver Amateur classes, you must be a current Amateur member. 
Amateur cards must be renewed annually.

Amateur Show Division

 
Amateur Card SampleAn AMATEUR is any rider nineteen years old and older on January 1 of the calendar year of the show who is no longer eligible to show in NASMA Youth classes, and who has not shown, judged, trained or assisted in training a mule, donkey or horse for remuneration, either directly or indirectly, nor received compensation for instructing another person in riding, driving, training or showing a mule, donkey or horse in competition for the previous five calendar years. An amateur exhibitor may not show, train or assist in the training of a mule or donkey for which their spouse is accepting any form of remuneration, either directly or indirectly for training, assisting in the training or showing of said mule.  Note:  You must possess a NASMA Amateur Card to show in an Amateur Class, Novice Amateur Class and Silver Amateur Class at a NASMA Sanctioned Show.
 

Youth Show Division

 
NASMA YouthA YOUTH is defined as any rider who is eighteen years or younger on January 1 of the calendar year of the show. A youth must be in control of the animal he/she is handling at all times. The judge should and  will excuse any entry that is not in control of their mule/donkey. No youth may show a jack in any event.
Youth classes may be split:

1. 18 & under
2. 13 & under
3. 14-18
4. 10 & under walk/trot
