The weekend of June 14-15, 2008 an open horse/mule/donkey show, auction and trail ride
was held at Henderson's Arena in Jackson Oh . The show was titled "Ears
to Janie" proceeds benefit a beautiful young lady,13 yr old Janie
Hatfield, who is battling cancer. NASMA directors and members from 4
different zones came together to help make it a fun and successful
weekend. So good to see mules, donkeys and horses all show together!
One open class had 15 mixed (horses/mules/donkeys) entries. Debbie
Cochran and her donkey Pauline won! Sunday was a beautiful day and
there were 15 to attend the 4 1/2 hour ride around Lake Hammertown.
Pauline was awarded an "Ears to Janie " halter donated by the NASMA
VTP program for being the most courageous on the ride. She was the
only donkey!
Emma Brackman was also awarded a halter for being the youngest on the
trails, she and her mule Tiger did a wonderful job.
Many thanks to Julie Waugh who helped make it all come together, Stacy
Golian and Golians Tack for their support and donations to the
auction. Also Ken Caldwell and Cleburn Saddles, Dough Waugh, Ron
Thompson, Leaning Pines Farm, Hawk Ridge Farm, Weber Farms, Big Woods
Farms, Scott Fraley, Brackman Family, Henderson's Arena, our

graciously at the auction. All together nearly $1700 was raised to
