Oklahoma National NASMA VTP Ride
On October 3, 2009 Cheryl & Skip Metheny, Sherri & Rick Pledger hosted a
NASMA Zone 4 trail ride at the beautiful Horse Haven Ranch in Talihina,
Ok.
We had 14 mule and donkey lovers that participated in the in the poker run
on Saturday with a cookout that followed. The poker run and the silent
auction were held to benefit the NASMA youth scholarship fund and a total
amount of $200 was raised! We would like to thank all of our mule and
donkey riders that donated the items like the beautiful mule painting,
leather headstall/halter combo, magnets, tack and accessories.

We met some great new people, Louise Clearwater from Arkansas, LA Thomson,
Rob & Renee Price, Kelly & Debie Taylor from Kansas and Bo & Tanya Ridley,
Jim Dale and his daughter Lesia (missing from photo) from Oklahoma and
want to thank them for coming.
In the photo below you will see LA Thomson on his grandmother’s 30+ year
old mule that he loves to ride, but was excited that he was going to move
up to the 9+ year old mule and let his little brother start out on this
fine old mule. |

In the photos below are auction table and Cheryl out on the trail on
Skip’s donkey Ethan. She also managed to get Elfie (Horse Haven owner) up
on Ethan for a photo and a quick ride… let those horse people feel the
wonderful ride of a donkey! |
